We got married in 2008, and after one year of contraception, decided to go off it and “try without trying”.  DH: 35 and Me: 33 live in Cape Town, South Africa.

At my very first gynae visit in 2008 my doctor at the time (Dr. Joh Meiring) confidently told me that I am very fertile with many eggs and no problems at all. Fast forward to 2010 and my new doctor (Dr. Elmarie Basson) suspected PCOS with anovulation and insulin resistance. Since then, there’s been rudimentary tests, medication and lifestyle changes. We have been “trying without trying” because of practical reasons but now that I’m feeling the time-pressure, we need to get serious about infertility.

I aim to post at least once a week.
